These controls are used to offer better and clear navigation in the web site.
The following are the navigation controls.
1. Menu: This control is an imitation to “MenuStrip” control in windows applications. The menu contains menu items. Whenever the user clicks on a menu item, a page will be opened.
Implementation of Menu: Drag the “Menu” control. Use the “Items” property to specify the list of menu items (parent menu items and child menu items). Specify “NavigateUrl” property for each item.
Note: ASP.NET supports “AutoFormat” styles for the “Menu” control. To change any autoformat style, right click on the control and choose “Auto Format” option.
2. TreeView: This control is similar to “Menu” control as above. But here, the items are called as “Nodes” (Parent Nodes and Child Nodes). Unlike menu control, treeview supports to expand and collapse the nodes. Whenever the user clicks on a node, a page will be opened.
Implementation of TreeView: Drag the “TreeView” control. Use the “Nodes” property to specify the list of nodes (parent nodes and child nodes). Specify “NavigateUrl” property for each node.
